Re: Meeting at Dehra on 5th Feb., 2006.

Ladies & Gentlemen,
First of all let me wish all of you a VERY HAPPY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. I pray to The ALMIGHTY that let all of us today join our hands, hearts and heads together for uplift and prosperity of our SABHA.

During our meeting in November,2005 a decision had been taken to indulge in some cultural activity and medical camp at Dehra on 5th Feb., 2006 and thereafter hold a meeting of The Managing Committee with a very limited agenda.

Although in my confidential letter (Confidential from SABHA staff and NOT from Hon’ble members) dated 10th November, 2005 to the address of respected President with a copy endorsed to the Secretary, I had put forth a suggestion to the effect that by involving some local SOODS of nearby hamlets like GARLI, PRAGPUR, JWALAMUKHI etc we should try to gauge their problems and if possible our Sabha should make efforts to solve the same according to our capabilities, yet this matter couldn’t be taken up in the meeting. (Today I am enclosing herewith a copy of my letter dated 10th Nov. 2005 to all of you for your kind perusal and deeper study)

I cannot help myself to keep a mute posture about this brainchild of mine and re-propose my idea, incorporated in the enclosed letter, in a condensed form for your deliberations.

Our Hon’ble president had indicated that he would be delighted to be our host and prefer that in case some of us cannot reach Dehra on 2nd of next month to attend his function, we should be there by 4th of February, 2006 We must avail of his generous hospitality to some constructive results and on 4th of February, 2006 should INFORMALLY invite prominent SOODS living in nearby villages like JWALAMUKHI, GARLI, PRAGPUR, RAKKAR etc for informal discussions about local problems and requirements etc in general interest of our BIRADARI or that of the area.

If we find ourselves in a position to help and meet genuine requirements, WE SHOULD TAKE A SPOT DECISION IN OUR MANAGING COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR NEXT DAY i.e. 5th Feb., 2006. Though a budgetary proposal for medical camp and other activities already stands sanctioned, WE CAN TAKE UP ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES by setting priorities and allocating more funds from time to time as the need may arise. Whenever and wherever new activities may be taken, we have to ensure that name of Sood Sabha, Shimla remains in the forefront. If my humble suggestion carries some weight in your opinion then let all of us impress upon Hon’ble President and the Secretary, as well as one ananother, to give it a practical shape so that we get together in Dehra on 4th February, 2006 and come down to brass tacks.

SECONDLY, we must give a very vide publicity to our programme scheduled for 5th proximo. I know, our leader is already at it and has worked the finer details. I feel that sufficient number of banners and publicity material be got prepared in SHIMLA and be fixed/hung in nearby villages like JWALAMUKHI, GARLI, PRAGPUR, RAKKAR, NEREN PUKHAR etc at conspicuous spots like schools or bus stops or Bazaars. Preparation of the material in Shimla will be cheaper and of better quality.

Hope that no person will scoff at my idea and give it a serious thought. I HAVE THE HONOUR TO BE

Yours very sincerely,

(VISHWA NATH SOOD)
Member, Mg Committee, Sood Sabha, Shimla. Encl: Letter dt. 10th Nov., 2005.
